Even though I know xanga is dead, I am posting to let you know what is going on with Megan. Megan (as most of you know) had a pretty severe case of mono last year that ended up with her seeing an oncologist for several different reasons. All in all, everything was resolved and she was back on the road to healthy living.
Well a few months ago we noticed her starting to drag more often, but she would perk up after a few days. FOr the past several weeks, she has been complaining non stop of headaches (we assumed it was the new glasses) and she has also been very tired. (We assumed it was due to playing 2 sports, although neither are very strenuous) She has also not been eating as well, and has lost some weight. When she started complaining of dizziness and nausea I decided to call the dr. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Her pediatrician is on maternity leave and the office said that they couldn't schedule her till mid AUGUST. When I explained to the woman that that was NOT going to work for us, she attempted to schedule her with another dr in JULY. After explaining that THAT also would not work (she definitely needs to be seen sooner than that) I was informed that because she has not acute symptoms (ie vomiting or fever) that they would not fill a gap in the schedule that is reserved for sick children. I battled this woman for several minutes before giving up and hanging up. I promptly called her oncologist who in a nut shell said that our pediatricians office was crazy and that she needed to have blood drawn and to be seen by her regular dr, or whoever has taken over for her. So I called the pediatrician back and was promptly put through to a nurse, who was also appalled that she wasn't scheduled. We have an appt tomorrow at 1145 for labs and an exam. Her results will go to her regular dr and to her oncologist.
SO anyway.... pray for Megs. We hate seeing her sick.

I hope you get an explanation and a solution from the Docs next week! So sorry she's not feeling well. But she had an awesome hit tonight, so she's hanging in there!!!
Poor Megan. She sounds like a pretty tough cookie though. Praying for you guys and for answers.
